The Costa Tropical is an enchanting area, only 40 minutes drive from
Malaga Airport and it´s surrounding resorts, yet it´s a world away from
away from the worst excesses of tourism.
Almuñecar, La Herradura and Salobreña are the main coastal resorts of
the area, whilst the backdrop of verdant valleys and rugged mountains
are sprinkled with tiny un-spoilt whitewashed villages.
The Costa Tropical gets it´s name from the local produce of exotic
fruits, vegetables and flowers. This rich harvest is due to the unique
sub-tropical microclimate where humidity is very low. The winter
temperatures rarely fall below 12ºc and the average is maintained at
around 17ºc. In summer, the averages climb to around 25ºc with midday
temperatures of 30ºc.
Residents and visitors alike from Scandanavia, France, Belgium, Italy ,
Britain and other parts all enjoy the quality of life here and truly
believe they are part of something special.
There is an International School in Almuñécar where the first language
is English, yet the children are all of different nationalities
creating a stimulating mix of cultures and influences. Equally, British
and International students are readily accepted at the many highly-
regarded “colegio publicos” in the area.
The Costa
Tropical coast is 45 minutes drive from the historical city of Granada,
overlooked by the Alhambra Palace and the snowy peaks of the Sierra
Nevada mountains where the sun shines and the ski season runs through
to the end of April.
The Costa Tropical, Quality of Choice…..Quality of Life.
